How to Clean Wax Off a Bathroom Counter Top

10
    • 1). Hold a razor blade or paint scraper at a low angle, approximately 15 or 20 degrees, off the counter top if the counter top has a glass, laminate or marble surface with no texture. Push the razor blade or paint scraper forward gently, sliding it beneath the wax to scrape it from the counter top.

    • 2). Wet the wax on a counter top that has a waterproof surface but cannot be scraped, such as a textured surface, by drenching a rag in hot water and placing the hot, wet rag on top of the spot of wax. Leave the rag balled up so that it stays hot longer and remove it after two to three minutes. Wipe over the spot with a dry rag to pick up the wax that has melted. Rinse the wet rag, re-wet it with hot water, let it sit on the spot for another two to three minutes, and then wipe off the area with the dry cloth. Repeat until the wax is fully removed.

    • 3). Heat the wax without wetting the counter top on bathroom counter tops that may not be as waterproof as their counterparts, such as natural stone. Cajun Candles recommends using a hair dryer to heat up the wax. As the wax gets hot and turns liquid on the counter top, use a dry rag to remove the wax from the counter top a little at a time.
