How to Be Considerate When Mowing the Lawn
- 1). Avoid mowing earlier than 9 a.m. and no later than 9 p.m. at night. The best time to mow is the middle of the day when most people are at work.
- 2). Mow the lawn so the cuttings land on your side of the yard. Your neighbors may not appreciate the cut grass sprayed across their manicured lawn. Cut the grass with the mower deck spraying the cuttings on your lawn and not your neighbor's.
- 3). Avoid turning your mower around in the neighbor's yard. Leaving round circles at the edge of your neighbor's lawn demonstrates a lack of consideration for their landscaping. Put the mower in reverse and turn around in your own lawn.
- 4). Mow only when the grass needs cut. Some people mow every other day, which is annoying to neighbors and not necessarily healthy for the grass.
