    • 1). Unplug the front load machine from the electrical circuit. Scoot the washer away from the wall so you can get behind the unit.

    • 2). Loosen the screws at the top of the back of the washer with a screwdriver, just below the top cover.

    • 3). Slide the top cover forward toward the front of the machine. Lift it off and set it aside.

    • 4). Pull open the dish soap compartment drawer and remove it from the washer. Lift up on the drawer or squeeze in the sides as needed in order to remove the drawer. Use a screwdriver to loosen any screws on the inside of the compartment. Look for more screws on the right and left sides of the machine around the instrument panel and unscrew them. Gently pull the instrument panel out of the machine and place it on top of the washer. Don't pull too hard, as it is still connected to the electronics inside the appliance.

    • 5). Remove the bottom panel of the washer. This may be held in place by clips on the side or screws.

    • 6). Open the front door of the washing machine. Look for the retaining spring or plastic strap securing the front of the seal cover. Cut this with a utility knife. Lift up the rubber collar so it is away from the door frame. Remove any screws or bolts around the inside of the door.

    • 7). Remove the screws on the corners of the front panel. Lift the door and front panel off the front of the machine.

    • 8). Disconnect the drain hose from the bottom of the rubber collar by pulling it apart. Look for the spring holding the collar in place. Unhook the two sections of spring, using a pair of needle-nose pliers, if needed, and remove the spring from the seal. Pull the seal out off the washing machine tub.

    • 9). Loosen the screws holding the door to the front panel. Replace the washer door with a new one.

    • 10

Slip the seal over the end of the washer tub and secure it with the spring clip. Reconnect the drain hose. Lift up the rubber seal collar so it fits through the door opening. Replace the front door and panel and secure the screws.

Fold the collar back down around the panel opening and secure it with a tie. Replace the bottom panel and control panel. Slide the top of the machine back into place and secure it.
