How to Repair the Ignition Switch on a Suzuki Motorcycle

1
    • 1). Park the motorcycle of a secure surface and deploy the parking stand. Unclip the seat from the bike. Disconnect the positive and negative battery terminals.

    • 2). Use a wrench to remove the mounting bolts on the triangle tree located above the handlebars. If the Suzuki has a steering dampner attached, remove it first before taking off the triangle tree.

    • 3). Follow the electrical connector from the battery connection to the ignition switch. Disconnect the connector by pulling it out of its connection. Remove both the triangle tree and ignition switch from the bike.

    • 4). Use a wrench to remove the mounting bolts, which fix the ignition switch to the triangle tree. Fix the new ignition switch to the triangle tree using the same mounting bolts on the old switch to hold it in place.

    • 5). Reassemble the triangle tree and ignition switch following the removal steps in reverse. Connect the battery terminals and turn on the engine.
