How to Fix an MP3 Player Circuit Board

1
    • 1). Open your MP3 player up. This process is going to differ significantly between makes and models, so consult your user manual.

    • 2). Remove the battery from the MP3 player. You do not want to tinker with the circuit board while power is still running through the hardware.

    • 3). Spray of the circuit board with compressed air to remove debris and dust build-up. This build-up often causes the circuit board to overheat, which tuns the equipment off and prevents it from functioning correctly.

    • 4). Look over the circuit board for any connections that are not inserted completely. Typically, there is a small wire insert that plugs into the circuit board. If the wire insert is lose or not connected properly, you need to push it in to ensure the electrical signal is being sent correctly.

    • 5). Inspect the circuit board for any corrosion. This is a build-up that sticks to the board and prevents it from functioning properly. If you see any corrosion build-up, you need to carefully scratch it off with a file or screwdriver. Doing so removes the debris that may be preventing the audio signal from being sent through the MP3 player correctly.
