How to Do Timed Recording on a Magnavox H2160MW9 HDD & DVD Recorder
- 1). Press the "TIMER" button on the remote control.
- 2). Scroll down to "New Program" and press the "OK" button.
- 3). Enter the date using the Up and Down arrow buttons, and then press the right arrow to switch to the next field.
- 4). Set the start time using the Up and Down arrow buttons. Press the right arrow and set the end time using the Up and Down arrow buttons. Press the right arrow button to switch to the "CH" field.
- 5). Set the channel or video source using the up and down arrow buttons. For a cable or satellite receiver, use L1 or L2. For digital sources, select "DTV." For analog sources, select "---."
- 6). Enter the channel number using the numeric keypad. For single digit channels, enter "0" first. Cycle through the channels using the Up and Down arrow buttons, and then press the right arrow button to confirm your choice and move to the next field.
- 7). Set "RECTo" to the media source. Select "DVD" to record to a disc, or "HDD" to record to the internal hard drive. Press the right arrow button when you finish.
- 8). Select the recording mode by pressing the up and down arrow buttons. The settings in order of picture quality are HQ, SP, SPP, LP, EP and SLP. HQ has the best picture quality, but with it you can only fit 60 minutes of recording on a standard DVD.
- 9). Press "OK" on the remote when you finish. Press "TIMER" or "SETUP" to exit the menu.
