  RV Camping in Joplin, Mo., is alive and well, with many sites offering large spaces and the most modern amenities. • KOA's campsite at Joplin features full hookup with up to 90 feet of length and 50 feet of width allocated to each pull-through space. Each space is equipped to handle up to 50-amp trailers. The site also sports tent facilities and one-room cabins in addition to fine amenities such as cable TV, Wi-Fi connectivity, new water/electricity sites, swimming pool, showers and full restroom facilities. For those just passing through on their way to a more rustic experience, KOA has a general store where travelers may stock up on supplies, grab a cup of coffee or purchase a souvenir Route 66 map.

Zan's Creekside Campground

• Zan's Creekside Campground is located within the city limits of Joplin. Its RV and campsite facilities enable guests to have an excellent home base for exploring the edge of the Ozark Mountains that intersect Joplin. The surrounding area is also home to eight large lakes, a high number of clear-water streams and numerous fishing opportunities. Joplin is also home to the Joplin Little Theater, the oldest community theater located west of the Mississippi River.

Big Red Barn RV Park & Campground

• The Big Red Barn is a family-owned operation sitting just 20 minutes outside Joplin. It offers full hookups with 30 to 50 amps of electricity, water/sewer, Wi-Fi and cable. Its clubhouse barn (it's big and red) fits 150 to 200 guests and sports a full kitchen. The park is an experience in and of itself, with wildlife moving freely through the large amounts of green space that's chock-full of foliage and plant life. The park has more than 70 RV sites in all, with each space being able to accommodate the largest rigs currently on the market.
