How to Make Homemade Cherry Wine
- 1). Allow 1 qt. frozen cherries to defrost inside a bowl.
- 2). Boil 2 cups of sugar in 1 gallon of water on high heat.
- 3). Pour the hot sugar water over the cherries and stir well.
- 4). Allow the mixture to cool completely before adding 1 package of Montrachet yeast and stirring well.
- 5). Pour the mixture into a jug and seal it tightly before storing it in a dark, cool place (such as a cabinet or basement) to ferment for 2 to 3 weeks. Allow the wine to ferment longer for a wine with a higher alcohol content.
- 6). Open the jug of wine after 2 to 3 weeks and strain it through a colander to remove any cherry debris. Pour the liquid back into the jug or into a wine bottle for storage until you are ready to drink it.
