How to Rip CDs Onto an iPod Nano
- 1). Place the CD you wish to have on the iPod Nano into the computer's CD drive to rip it (copy from the disc onto your computer).
- 2). Open iTunes. The iTunes software can be downloaded from the official Apple iTunes website onto your computer.
- 3). Click on the audio CD that's listed underneath the "Devices" heading on the left part of iTunes.
- 4). Click "Import Settings" located at the bottom of iTunes. A window will appear.
- 5). Click the "Import Using" drop menu located at the top of the window. Then, select a file format for the CD music. Every format that's listed in the menu is compatible with your iPod. Once you have selected a format, click "OK" to save the choice.
- 6). Click "Import CD" at the bottom of iTunes. The CD will be ripped into the iTunes library. You can eject the CD from the computer once this process completes.
- 1). Connect the iPod Nano to one of the computer's USB ports, using the Nano's USB cable.
- 2). Click the iPod Nano menu, which is listed underneath "Devices."
- 3). Click the "Summary" tab, which is at the top of iTunes.
- 4). Click the "Manually manage music and videos" box located at the bottom of the center iTunes window.
- 5). Click "Apply" located at the bottom-right portion of iTunes. You will now be able to manually add music onto the iPod.
- 1). Click "Music," which is found beneath the "Library" category on the left portion of iTunes. The songs you have saved inside the iTunes library will be listed in the middle of the program.
- 2). Click the names of the CD songs you want to add onto the iPod Nano.
- 3). Drag the highlighted songs over to your iPod Nano that's listed under "Devices." The CD songs will be added onto the iPod Nano.
