The HP Integrity rx6660, more commonly known as the rx6600, is a customizable computer server manufactured by the Hewlett-Packard Corporation. The rx6660 is an entry-class model for use by a small hosting company or for office databases. According to HP, other potential uses for this system include supply chain management, billing, application integration and resource planning.
  
  

Processor

• The HP rx6660 uses dual-core Intel Itanium processors. This server can hold a maximum of four chips, for a total of eight processor cores. Users may select from three types of Itanium processors. The 1.42-GHz processor features 12 megabytes of cache memory. The 1.6-GHz processor offers a faster speed and comes with either 18MB or 24MB of cache memory.
  
  

Operating System

• Different companies require varying operating systems, depending upon how they plan to utilize the HP Integrity rx6660. HP offers four choices of operating systems. Buyers may choose Windows Server 2008, Red Hat Enterprise Linux 4 or 5 with Novel Linux Server 10 and 11, or OpenVMS v8.3. OpenVMS is a less known operating system designed exclusively for use on computer servers. Users may also choose HP-UX 11i v2 or v3 with HP Virtual Server, which is HP's proprietary server software.
  
  

Memory

• The HP rx6660 computer server can hold either 24 or 48 sticks of RAM, depending on the motherboard configuration. This unit uses PC2-4200 ECC double data rate 2 (DDR-2) memory sticks, with a maximum memory capacity of 384 gigabytes (GB). Users may choose how much memory they want with their server when they make their purchase from HP.
  
  

Storage

• In order to store data, the HP rx6660 features 16 plugs for SCSI 2.5-inch hard drives. The available sizes of these drives are 36GB, 72GB, 146GB, and 300GB, with a maximum storage capacity of 4.8 terabytes. This computer server model also features a single DVD-ROM or DVD+RW bay so that software can be installed on the unit.

• The Integrity rx6660 comes in a compact size that measures 12 inches in height by 17.3 inches in width by 27.4 inches in depth. The weight of the system is 150 lbs, but it can weigh 184 lbs with the optional server rack sold by HP. This unit operates using a 1,600-watt power supply and can handle room temperatures between 41 and 95 degrees Fahrenheit.
