How to Get Cigarette Smell Out of Draperies
- 1). Fill a spray bottle with white vinegar and mist this over the draperies. Vinegar is a natural deodorizer that will attack and remove the cigarette odor without damaging your draperies. Repeat twice per day until the odor dissipates.
- 2). Take down the draperies and sprinkle with baking soda if the vinegar does not deodorize to your satisfaction. Let the baking soda sit overnight and collect the baking soda the next day with your vacuum hose attachment.
- 3). Take the draperies to your dry cleaners if you cannot remove the odor on your own. They typically will be able to treat the drapes with their professional expertise and cleaning tools.
