How to Replace Blades on a Dixon Mower
- 1). Put on your work gloves. Position your tire jacks at the front of the mower and lift each jack sufficiently to provide access to the mower deck's underside.
- 2). Position the blocks of wood adjacent to the three blades to prevent them from spinning. Unscrew the blade bolt using an electric impact wrench with a six-point socket. Remove the blade and repeat the process for the mower's two other blades, being careful to avoid touching the sharp surface of any of the blades.
- 3). Place replacement blades in the same position as the dull or nicked blades you removed. Tighten the blade bolts on each blade assembly to 60 ft. lbs. with a torque wrench. Ease down the front of the mower with the tire jacks.
