Homemade Thanksgiving Invitations
- 1). Open the graphics program and click "File." Select "New" from the drop-down menu and select the dimensions of your card. Make a postcard with dimensions of 4 inches by 6 inches.
- 2). Select a color for your invitation. Use an autumn color that will complement a Thanksgiving invitation---orange, brown or yellow would all be suitable colors to use. Fill in the card area with this color with the "Flood Fill" tool.
- 3). Browse through the images that came preinstalled in your graphics program. Many graphics programs have a selection of images you can use to embellish your graphics creations. Look for images that match a Thanksgiving theme, such as turkeys, pilgrims and feasting. Select a photo or two, highlight them and paste them onto your postcard. Drag them to the position you desire on the post card with your mouse.
- 4). Select the "Text" tool at the top of your work area. Select a font you like, a font size and a font color. Position your mouse where you want to add text to your card and click your mouse. Enter the text you wish to place on your invitation, including the date, the time and any other pertinent information your guests need to know. Click "Enter" to place the text onto your card. Drag the text with your mouse to move it, if you desire.
- 5). Proofread your invitation after you finish adding everything. Make any changes and then save the invitation to your hard drive.
- 6). Print the invitations onto card stock using your color printer. Alternatively, transfer the invitation file to a flash drive and take the flash drive to a printer for professional printing.
