One of my most preferred things to play on my Nintendo DSi is to search out and get the latest homebrew game or application. There's virtually something new brought out every few days.... These are individuals who spend their time designing innovative games just because they love doing it. And all of it made feasible because of a miniature NDS Flash Card called the R4i SDHC card. It not only allows for programmers to MAKE the games, but gamers to actually download and play the games.

I'd been happy with my R4i SDHC [http://www.myr4card.com] Card from the day I acquired it in the mail and I can't conceive of owning my DSi without having my R4i card to go with it. It really has changed the way I play with and use my Nintendo DSi.
With the issue of the Nintendo DSi XL I swiftly departed to the store to purchase this larger screened variation of my trusty hand held DSi. I invariably found the DSi and the DS Lite to be a bit challenging to play with because of my larger hands - gaming was a bit awkward and irritating. The DSi XL therefore really catered to my need to be able to use my console well.

I was worried that my R4i SDHC card would not be compatible with my new DSi XL system. I scoured around online seeking for information, and had some people with good outcomes to using their R4i Cards on the DSi XL while others could not get it to work for the life of them. So of course, I was vexed.

The more I researched however, the more I learned, and realized that most of the individuals that were having trouble were experiencing those problems because they were using clones / copies of the R4i SDHC Card, not the true REAL R4 Cards, but knockoffs. I couldn't wait to plug in my R4i SDHC card to my new DSi XL. I was excited to learn if it would play. As soon as I plugged in my R4i SDHC card, I was pleasantly surprised at how well it played and all my worries dissipated. My R4i SDHC worked without a hitch! It was flawless! I no longer had any concerns about how my R4i SDHC card would function - right out of the package it was a winner! The current firmware I had originally had on the R4i Card had to be updated, but it required only a couple of minutes to download and copy it over.

In a matter of minutes I was playing my preferred games on a much more comfortable DSi XL with its better, extended screen and bigger size. For anyone with bigger hands and a desire to get more out of their NDS experience, I cannot recommend the DSi XL enough. While I know it is a update only in SIZE, it is believably a much more welcomed update than going from the DS Lite to the DSi, as the larger screen makes playing a lot more fun.

The key to the successful use of your R4i SDHC card is to ensure that is an original and not a copy. Utilizing an authentic card will prevent troubles when utilizing it with your DSi XL system. If you haven't yet purchased an R4i SDHC Card, then I urge you to read more and find out everything you can about this really revolutionary accessory for your Nintendo DS and DSi system.
