Very Non-Corrosive Rust Removal for Antique Knives
- 1). Pour household lubricating oil into a clean cloth until it is damp.
- 2). Wipe down the entire rusted surface of the antique knife with the oiled cloth.
- 3). Leave the knife sitting in a warm room for three days. This gives the oil time to loosen the rust from the knife.
- 4). Hold the knife by the handle and use the sharp edge of a new knife to chip the rust spots away slowly. Hold the new knife at a sharp angle and gently press the sharp edge into the rust spot, scraping it away. Continue until you remove all the rust.
- 5). Wipe the knife clean with a clean towel.
