How Do I Dupe Cassette Tapes?
- 1). Insert the tape you want to dupe into the play well of your dual-well cassette deck, or into the deck you have designated the play deck if you have two decks connected by an audio cable from the play output of one to the record input of the other.
- 2). Insert a blank tape into the record well or record deck. Make sure the blank tape is the same length as the play tape. Cassettes are typically sold in 90-minute, 100-minute and 111-minute versions.
- 3). Hit "Play" and "Pause" on the tape you want to record and "Record" and "Pause" on the blank tape well, then press "Pause" at the same time on both decks to start recording. Some decks are designed so that if you hit "Record," it will automatically start playing the master tape if you have it in "Pause" mode.
