Blood flow to the extremities such as the hands and feet is reduced to keep blood loss to a minimum if injury occurs and make sure that the large muscle necessary for survival are not depleted of blood.
Sweating may also increase making it difficult for your adversary to hold onto you allowing you to slip away.
Mentally you become laser focused on the threat making it difficult to think about anything else.
Behaviorally you are now ready to either fight or run.
Your mind and body have put all the tools available for survival into action.
The problem is that in today's world there is good chance that your biggest challenge will not be to get away, but how well you are able to manage your anxiety.
The energy created by our body has to go somewhere.
Often the response in today's modern world are to move the feet or hands, talk like crazy, yell and scream, or simply hold that energy in making you feel as if you could explode at any moment.
