How to Remove Speakers From a 1999 Chevrolet Suburban
- 1). Insert the blade of a screwdriver behind the edge of the plastic trim located behind the door release. Pry carefully with the screwdriver to remove the trim.
- 2). Pry off the arm cover on the door with a panel tool. Remove two 9/32-inch screws from underneath the cover with the 9/32-inch socket and driver.
- 3). Insert the tip of your panel tool behind the plastic "sail panel" at the upper front edge of the door. Pry the panel off.
- 4). Pry out the switch panel on the door with the panel tool. Disconnect any wires plugged into the bottom of the switch panel.
- 5). Pry around the edges of the door panel with the panel tool, working around the perimeter to release all the retaining clips on the door.
- 6). Slide the door panel up and off of the door. Set it aside.
- 7). Pry out the spring tab on the top of the speaker with a flat-bladed screwdriver and pull the speaker out of the door. Unplug the wiring connector on the back.
