Ignition

• The Metropolitan's engine is brought to life with an electric push-button starter. Honda's alternating current generator (ACG) brushless technology generates an effortless, non-jolting start. Mounted to the crankshaft, the ACG starter is a two-in-one motor starter/alternator that directly cranks the engine.
  
  

Engine

• The 2005 Honda Metropolitan is powered by a liquid-cooled, four-stroke, 49cc overhead camshaft engine. It runs off a single cylinder containing two valves with a bore and stroke of 38 mm x 44 mm. The 2005 Metropolitan scooter is rated at a maximum speed of 35 mph and uses an automatic V-Matic belt driven transmission.
  
  

Fuel System

• The Metropolitan has a fuel capacity of 1.3 gallons and runs on regular gasoline. The Metropolitan's engine puts out a compression ratio of 12:1. It has a single, constant-velocity (CV) carburetor with an automatic choke. The carburetor measures 15 mm in size.
