How to Mix Slay Herbicide
- 1). Calculate how much solution and what strength you need for the area you are treating. One 4-ounce container of Slay is intended to treat 1 acre of ground, but it can be used with different amounts of water as necessary. The strongest safe concentration of Slay is 4 ounces in 10 gallons of water per acre. 20 gallons or more of water per acre is usually recommended, with more water necessary for thicker foliage.
- 2). Fill the sprayer tank with half the amount of clean water you intend to use. If you are using less than a full 4-ounce or 1-pint package of Slay, use a measuring cup to carefully measure out the amount of Slay to be added to the tank.
- 3). Add the Slay to the tank while agitating it. Then, add one either ½ pint of Surefire Seed Oil or Crop Oil per acre (or per 4 ounces of Slay) or 1 quart of surfactant per 100 gallons of spray (3.2 ounces per 10 gallons). Other crop oils should be used at the rate of 1.25 gallons per 100 gallons, and other methylated seed oils should be added at the rate of 1 gallon per 100 gallons.
- 4). Add any liquid fertilizers or additional herbicides as necessary and as per manufacturer's recommendations. Liquid fertilizer is recommended when spraying planted fields that have already sprouted.
- 5). Fill the tank with the remainder of the water. Attach the tank to the sprayer head or equipment. The Slay solution is now ready for spraying.
