How do I Buy a Refurbished Digital HDTV TV?
- 1). Find a retailer that sells refurbished HDTV's. Many electronic stores sell returned/refurbished televisions. You can also visit sites such as Overstock.com, Amazon.com and TigerDirect.com, as well as the company websites that produce the TVs. All retailers have to clearly mark any refurbished product.
- 2). Find out what needed to be replaced on the HDTV. These records are typically kept by the retailer and have to be provided to you if requested. The components that are replaced are a good sign as to what parts of the television might die out in the future.
- 3). Check the model year of the refurbished television. A refurbished television that is several years old means the actual TV has already been used for a few years. Even with replacement parts, the chances of additional hardware failing are far higher than with a new TV.
- 4). Ask about the return policy for the refurbished television. If the TV is damaged soon after you take it home you want the option to return the digital HDTV for a full refund.
