How to Squish Oranges
- 1). Put the oranges you want to squish into a bowl and pour in hot water until the oranges are covered. Leave the oranges in the water for 30 seconds in order to bring them to room temperature.
- 2). Remove the oranges from the bowl and gently roll each one on the counter. Roll your hand back and forth over the orange to soften the flesh inside the peel. You will feel the orange become less resistant as you roll it and the process creates more juice inside when you start squishing.
- 3). Cut the oranges across the middle to get two halves, each with a stem hole on the base. Place one of the halves, flesh-side down, on top of the juicer so it rests on the pointed part.
- 4). Push the orange down onto the juicer and turn it from left to right. Squish the flesh thoroughly. Keep turning the orange until no more juice squeezes out. Set aside the empty half and squish each of the remaining ones in the same way.
- 5). Lift the top of the juicer off the container and dispose of any seeds and flesh that dropped into it. Pour the extracted juice in the bottom of the juicer through a sieve set on top of a pitcher then move the pitcher to fridge to chill the juice.
