How to Remove UV Gels
- 1). Use a 240-grit file to file down the UV gel as thin as possible. Make sure you do not file down to your actual nail.
- 2). Warm the gel remover by running hot water over the bottle.
- 3). Fill a small bowl with the warm gel remover.
- 4). Allow fingernails to soak in gel remover for 15 to 30 minutes. Make sure to place a terrycloth washcloth over your hands and the bowl. The towel will help keep the gel remover warm. The UV gel will start to soften and become pliable.
- 5). Use an orange wood stick to gently push off remaining gel. Make sure to do this while your finger is submerged in the gel remover. This makes removal easier.
- 6). Buff and smooth nails.
- 7). Apply conditioning oil or lotion to fingernails.
