How to Change a Turn Signal on a 1997 Ford F250
- 1). Raise the hood and reach down behind the headlamp/turn signal lamp assembly and grab the turn signal bulb socket.
- 2). Turn the socket counter clockwise ¼ turn until the retaining tabs clear the retaining slots and gently pull the bulb out of the turn signal lamp assembly.
- 3). Pull the bulb out of the socket by hand and insert replacement bulb until it snaps into place. Push the bulb back into the turn signal lamp assembly and line the retaining tabs up with the retaining slots. Push the tabs through the slots and twist the socket ¼ turn clockwise.
- 4). Drop the tailgate and remove the retaining screws holding the tail lamp assembly to the bed wall. Pull the tail lamp assembly away from the truck bed. Grab the turn signal bulb socket and twist it ¼ turn counterclockwise. Pull the bulb and socket out of the tail lamp assembly gently.
- 5). Pull the burned out bulb out of the socket by hand, insert the new bulb and push the bulb and socket back into the tail lamp assembly. Align the tabs and slots, then push the socket into place and twist it ¼ turn clockwise. Put the tail lamp assembly back into place in the bed wall and reinstall the retaining screws with the Philips screwdriver.
