• There are very little differences between the 2007 and 2008 Toyota Rav4 models. Both years come in the Sport Utility 4D (or base model), "Sport" Sport Utility 4D and Limited Sport Utility 4D models. All models in both years have a four-cyclinder, 2.4 liter engine. They all have the similar engine specs such as 166 at 6,000 rpm horsepower, 165 at 4,000 rpm torque, 3.48 x 3.48 bore and stoke, 9.8 compression ratio and dual overhead cams.
  
  

Powertrain Differences

• The 2008 Toyota Rav4 models come with an optional five-speed manual transmission with overdrive. None of the three 2007 Toyota Rav4 models come with this optional feature. The 2007 Toyota Rav4 base model gets 20 miles per gallon in the city and 25 mpg on the highway. The 2008 Rav4 models gets 19 mpg in city, and 26 mpg on the highway.
  
  

Exterior Differences

• The 2008 Toyota Rav4 base model has optical roof rails. The 2008 Toyota Rav4 Limited has standard roof rails. The 2007 models don't have roof rails. The 2007 Rav4 base model also has steel wheels with covers. The 2008 base model has steel wheels too, but they have no covers on their wheels. The 2007 Rav4 Limited has aluminum alloy wheels, while the 2008 Rav4 Limited has alloy wheels.
  
  

Interior Differences - Entertainment

• The 2007 Rav4 models have an optional cassette player, in 2008 this option wasn't available. The compact disc was standard in the 2007 Rav4 base model but optional in the Limited. Both the 2008 base and Limited models had standard CDs. The 2007 models don't have power mirrors as the 2008 models do. Power outlets were standard in the 2008 models. This was not an option in the 2007 models.
  
  

Interior Differences - Power Options

• The 2007 base model had an optional single and dual power seats. This was standard in the 2007 Limited. The 2008 base model did not have the option for power seats, but the 2008 Limited came with power seats. The sun or moon roof was optional in 2007 models. In 2008, models it wasn't an available option. The 2008 models only had standard rear window defroster, remote keyless entry and tachometer. The 2008 models also have a folding rear seat, while the 2007 models don't.
