Euro Championships 2012 Tips
The European Championships 2012 Tournament will be co-hosted by Poland and Ukraine. The competition is the last one to be 16 teams as the following one in 2016 will increase to 24 teams. Poland and Ukraine beat Italy and Croatia/Hungary for the right to stage the competition.
The games will generally be divided 50/50 between the two countries. Polish places to have games will be Warsaw, Gdansk, Wroclaw and Poznan. The Ukrainian locations will be Kiev, Lviv, Kharkiv and Donetsk.
The last game will take place in Kiev which will also have one of the semi-finals. This will be at the Olimpiysky National Sports Complex which after development will be one of the leading arenas and sports stadiums on the globe. The new arena in Warsaw is also under development and guarantees to be an ultra-modern location.
The draw for the competition has already been performed and determining which games will start. Each of the four group champions and the best runner-up will obtain immediate access into the final stages.
The markets are dominated with the regular big footballing nations. Former champions Spain are obviously favourites, with Germany and Netherlands also popular and teams England, Italy, France and Portugal all fairly well supported as well. But with the competition being won by up a number of outsiders in recent times, can anyone really be discounted?

Group A: Poland, Greece, Russia, Czech Republic
Group B: Netherlands, Denmark, Germany, Portugal
Group C: Spain, Italy, Croatia, Ireland
Group D: England, Ukraine, Sweden, France
My predictions for the group winners are: Russia, Germany, Spain, and France. I would love England to do well but my tip for the outright winner would be Germany.
The host nation typically have an advantage at the significant worldwide soccer competitions although the tendency is not quite as powerful in the European Championships Tournament as it is at the World Cup, where many players are playing outside of their own continent and therefore playing in conditions and climates they are less acquainted with.
From the last 13 European Championships three teams have won the Tournament on home soil. I would be very surprised to see host nations Poland or Ukraine reach the final this time as there are so many other talented squads.
