What to Do for Reaction to Ambien
- Consult your physician if any of the following side effects begin to occur regularly after taking Ambien:
Headache
Nausea or vomiting
Dizziness
Muscle pain
Lack of coordination
Weakness
Diarrhea or constipation
Dry mouth
Blurred vision
Forgetfulness
Impaired judgment
The above are common after taking Ambien. If any of these side effects, however, begin to occur on a regular basis, a physician may need to lower the dosage or halt the use of Ambien. - Contact a physician immediately if any of the following reactions occur after taking Ambien:
Depression
Suicidal thoughts
Delusions and/or hallucinations
Aggressive behavior
Confusion
Mania
Poor coordination
Loss of consciousness
Heart palpitations
Slurred speech
Impotence
Hypertension
The above reactions are uncommon to Ambien, and a physician is likely to discontinue the use of Ambien. - Discontinue Ambien immediately if any of the following the side effects occur:
Trouble breathing
Swelling of throat, face, tongue or lips
Hives
The above symptoms suggest an allergic reaction and Ambien should be discontinued immediately. Immediate medical attention is needed.
