    Playing The Hand

    • 1). Find a group of friends to play the Pimps and Tricks card game with. It must be played by exactly two or four players.

    • 2). Deal seven cards to each player in the game. Players will want to keep cards that can be used in scoring combinations.

    • 3). Alternate taking turns between the two or four players. On each player's turn in a four-player game, the player will draw three cards and discard three cards. In the two-player version, each player will draw and discard five cards for the first three rounds, and draw and discard four cards in the fourth and final round.
The same card can be drawn and then discarded. Cards are out of play once they are discarded. During the scoring of the hand, each player can only use five cards to score points with.

    • 4). Reveal the scoring combinations in each player's hand after the final round of drawing and discarding. In the two-player game, this is after the fourth round; in the four-player game, this is after the third round of drawing and discarding.

    • 5). Display a scoring combination. This involves laying down a single card or a pair of cards known as a couple. Each card may be used in only one scoring combination. Playing an Ace alone is known as playing a Pimp, worth eight points. Two Aces played together scores 20 points. An Ace and a King played together as a scoring combination is 14 points. An Ace and Queen scores 12 points and an Ace and a Jack scores 10 points.

    • 6). Score other couples. A King with a Queen scores eight points, two Kings score six points, and a King and Jack together score four points. A Queen and a Jack score seven points, and two Queens score five points. Two Jacks played together score four points.

    • 7). Play a single honor card to score points. Single Kings and Queens are each worth two points, and single Jacks are worth one point.

    • 8). Add up the total points for each player based on the scoring combinations he played.

    • 9). Collect the cards and play another round of Pimps & Tricks until one player either scores a pre-determined point total to win, or an agreed-upon number of rounds are played.
