How to Use a BlackBerry Memory Chip
- 1). Locate the memory card slot on the BlackBerry and slide the memory card into the slot. Generally the MicroSD memory slot is found on the side of the phone or inside the phone, underneath or next to the battery. If the memory card slot is located underneath the battery, remove the battery and open the storage slot. Open the metal hinge and insert the memory card. Close the slot to insure the card is correctly installed.
- 2). Power the phone on and go to the "Options" menu and select "Memory Card." Select the "Format Media Card" option and select "Yes" when you're asked to confirm the memory card format. After about a minute, the BlackBerry will inform you that the card is formatted.
- 3). Return to the memory card screen and turn on the mass-storage option. This will enable you to transfer and save data to the memory card. Return to the phone's home screen to use the memory card.
- 4). Connect the BlackBerry to the computer using the phone's USB cable to transfer data from the computer to the MicroSD memory card. You should immediately see the phone as a new drive on the computer. Open the drive and begin dragging data from the computer into the BlackBerry memory card.
