University of Florida Description:

With about 50,000 students, the University of Florida at Gainesville is one of the largest universities in the U.S. Florida offers a huge range of undergraduate and graduate programs, but they have most made a name for themselves in pre-professional areas such as business, engineering and the health sciences. General strengths in the liberal arts and sciences earned Florida a chapter of Phi Beta Kappa.

Housing is tight on campus, and fewer than a quarter of the students live on campus. About 15% of students join fraternities or sororities. The NCAA Division I Florida Gators compete in the Southeastern Conference.
