How to Clean Bathroom Walls

17

    Smooth Walls

    • 1). Dampen sponge mop head, or cloth attachment on a microfiber mop, with white vinegar or a commercial bathroom cleaner. If your bathroom has a wallpaper border, also dampen a lint-free microfiber cloth.

    • 2). Wipe from the top left side of the wall straight down to the baseboard. If necessary, step up on a step stool to reach the top of the wall. If the wall has a wallpaper border, wipe the border first and then place your mop head under the border and wipe downward.

    • 3). Return to the top and overlap the previous area with your mop head by about a centimeter. Wipe down again.

    • 4). Rinse out your mop as it becomes dirty; or remove the microfiber cloth attachment and rinse or replace it. Apply fresh vinegar or cleaner to the mop and continue from top to bottom from one side of the wall to the other. When finished, dampen a cloth with vinegar or cleaner and wipe along the baseboard.

    • 5). Fill a spray bottle with warm water and spray the wall. Wipe the sprayed wall and baseboard with clean, dry lint-free microfiber cloths to remove any residues and then dry completely.

    • 6). Repeat the cleaning process on your other bathroom walls.

    Rough-Surfaced Walls

    • 1). Attach a brush head attachment to your vacuum's hose and vacuum the walls from top to bottom and the baseboards.

    • 2). Dampen a lint-free microfiber cloth with undiluted white vinegar or a commercial bathroom cleaner.

    • 3). Blot the rough surface of the first wall starting from the top and working your way down to the bottom. Repeat this process with additional cloths and cleaner to work from one side of the wall to the other.

    • 4). Fill a spray bottle with warm water and spray the entire wall lightly from top to bottom. Wait three minutes.

    • 5). Blot the wall dry with additional lint-free cloths to remove residue and water.

    • 6). Repeat the cleaning process on your other bathroom walls.
