Align the paper so it is taller than it is wide, then fold the left half over to meet the right. Crease the paper along the fold.

Hold the paper so the fold is at the bottom. Cut parallel slits an inch apart, or slightly smaller, starting at the fold and reaching near the top edge without cutting through, as if making a fringe. Do not cut all the way through the top edge or the trick won't work.

Turn the paper around so the fold is on top. Cut parallel slits in between the other slits on the opposite side of the paper, starting at the bottom of the paper and not quite reaching the top edge. This edge should look like a wide fringe as well.

Examine the folded edges of the connected paper strips; they are all on the same side of the paper. Cut through the folds on all the strips except the outer two -- the one on the left and the one on the right, if the fold is at the top or bottom.

Stretch the paper open to reveal a large hole in the center. Step through it to complete the trick, being careful not to tear the paper.
