- 1). Contact any locksmith or Jeep dealership in your neighborhood to obtain a replacement key for your 1996 Jeep.
- 2). Provide the locksmith or dealership with the vehicle identification number (VIN) of your Jeep so they can use it to obtain the information on how to cut your specific key. VINs are located on your insurance, registration and purchase paperwork as well as on your driver's door panel and on the bottom left side of your Jeep's windshield.
