• Honda produced the Elite scooter from 1984 to 1987. It debuted as the Elite 125; the Elite 150 was introduced in 1985, with the 150 referring to the size of the engine. Engine

• The 1985 Honda Elite sports a water-cooled four-stroke engine with a single overhead camshaft. Weighing 58 lb., the motor is capable of producing 7.8 to 12.4 horsepower and 7 pound-feet of torque. Its compression ratio is 10:1:1, with a bore and stroke of 2.285 and 2.275 inches, respectively. The bore is the diameter of the cylinder where the piston moves up and down, the stroke is the distance the piston moves, and the compression ratio refers to the volume of the cylinder at different points in the piston's stroke. The clutch is a centrifugal automatic, and the transmission is a variable ratio V-Matic. The Elite 150 uses a CDI electric ignition, a belt drive line and a 22 mm CV carburetor. Brakes, Tires and Suspension

• The 1985 Honda Elite scooter uses drum brakes in both the front and rear, and has 3.50-10 tires (width and diameter in inches, respectively) with pressed steel wheels. In the front, it uses trailing-link suspension; in the rear, it uses twin hydraulic shocks. Trailing-link suspensions use mechanical arms in front of the wheels to support the scooter's unsprung mass.
