How to Replace the Lower Radiator Hose in a 2007 Corolla

3
    • 1). Drive the Corolla onto a set of front end car ramps and secure the parking break. The ramps create ground clearance to drain the radiator before removing the hose.

    • 2). Locate the petcock (drain) on the bottom left-hand side of the radiator and place a 5-gallon bucket directly under the drain. Open the drain with a pair of pliers and allow all of the fluid to drain into the bucket.

    • 3). Loosen the band clamp that holds the radiator hose onto the return coupler located on the back side of the radiator and slide the clamp onto the hose.

    • 4). Place the bucket under the return coupler and pull off the hose. Fluid will drain from the hose into the bucket. Allow all of the fluid to drain before moving to the next step.

    • 5). Trace the radiator hose to the location where it is clamped to the engine block. The hose is connected to a similar coupler that is located on the radiator. Loosen the band clamp that holds the radiator hose onto the engine block of the Corolla and then slide the clamp onto the hose.

    • 6). Place a bucket or a catch pan under the location where the hose mounts to the engine block of the Corolla and remove the hose from the coupler. Fluid will drain from the engine block into the bucket.
