How to Fix a DVD Movie
- 1). Dab your microfiber cloth (available at any electronics or computer store) in the rubbing alcohol. You want to only dampen the cloth, not soak it.
- 2). Run the cloth over the bottom of the DVD in a circular motion. Apply pressure and be sure to work the cloth over the entire surface of the DVD. This should remove any minor scratches or fingerprints. If your DVD still doesn't function after you have done this, proceed to Step 3.
- 3). Take your tube of regular, non-gel toothpaste and squeeze an amount about the size of a nickel on the surface of the DVD.
- 4). Work a dry microfiber cloth around the surface of the DVD in small circular motions, being sure to spread the toothpaste across the surface evenly.
- 5). Apply more and more pressure to the DVD as you continue to work the toothpaste around the surface. Continue until the toothpaste is dry.
- 6). Rinse the DVD off with cold water and then dry it with a clean microfiber cloth.
- 7). Add a dollop of any polymer-based car polish to a clean microfiber cloth and work it around the surface of the DVD in a circular motion. Wait for it to dry and then polish your DVD with a clean and dry microfiber cloth.
