Celebrating Easter with an infant can be just as fun as celebrating it with a toddler or older child. Baby-themed Easter baskets can contain lots of goodies appropriate for infants. Putting together an infant Easter basket isn't difficult and gives you the opportunity to include your newborn in all the colorful festivities of the holiday. - A small basket with soft, colorful toys for baby is an appropriate idea for an infant Easter basket. Place the stuffed animals -- just big enough for baby's hand -- in the basket and surround them with colorful plastic eggs. Baby may not seem interested in the stuffed animals at first, but the bright colors will be appealing. Squeak toys, a teething ring and musical toys are all things you can include in an infant Easter basket.
- Create a basket that will be useful after Easter has been celebrated. Include a variety of fruit baby foods, a new binky and a customized baby rattle that says "Happy First Easter." Although it may not mean a lot to the infant at this time, you can save the first-Easter items for memories.
- Babies love to look at bright colors and listen to sounds. Put together a basket with a pink or blue blanket as its base, colorful plastic and musical eggs and sparkly pinwheels. Include a few keepsake items, as well. Another option is to create a cartoon-character theme basket, such as Winnie the Pooh or Donald Duck.
- Combine baby's baptism with Easter and create a basket that includes items from the event, such as a framed photograph, a christening gown, charms and a silver rattle. This basket can be shared with family and friends on Easter and stored away for when baby is older. Family and friends can even write little notes to baby to leave in the basket.
