How to See the Garmin Mapsource Map on a Windows Mobile
- 1). Back up all of your important information on your SD card. This includes your media, files, documents, pictures, videos and songs. You could risk losing this data when installing any new software.
- 2). Download the Mobile XT application from the Garmin website (see Resources). Follow the setup wizard for proper installation. Save the file to your desktop for easy access.
- 3). Attach one end of the data cable to your Windows Mobile device. Insert the other end of the data cable to your desktop computer or laptop's USB port. Wait for Windows Mobile Device Center to detect a connection between your computer and phone.
- 4). Click "Next." Select the Garmin Mobile XT application in your computer's programs and files. Click "Next" once again.
- 5). Wait for synchronization to complete. Click "Finish" when prompted. Disconnect the data cable from your computer and device.
- 6). Turn on your device. Click "Start" and "File Explorer." Locate the Garmin Mobile XT application. Click on it to install it and to follow any necessary on-screen prompts.
- 7). Reboot your Windows Mobile device. Click "Start" and Garmin Mobile XT. Enter the unlock code, located on the yellow sheet that came with your Garmin GPS. The program, including the MapSource Map, should launch on your device.
