Set the iron on the steam setting and allow it to reach the proper temperature. - 4). Spray a clean, white cotton cloth or clean cloth diaper with the soapy water mixture. Place the cloth wet side down on the slide-out streak. Place the hot iron on top of the cloth and press the steam button two or three times. Remove the iron and the cloth.
- 5). Inspect the cloth to see if any of the slide-out streak has transferred to the cloth. Blot the carpet area dry with a clean dry cloth. Continue to blot until no more moisture comes out of the carpet. If the slide out streak is not completely removed, repeat the entire process with another clean dry cloth. Continue until the streak is completely removed. It will take several attempts to completely remove the mark.
- 6). Clean the slide-out thoroughly with an RV cleaner recommended for use on slide-outs. This will help prevent such streaks in the future.
