How to Transfer Music From iPod to iTunes on Vista
- 1). Connect your iPod to your PC by inserting the iPod cable into the iPod's dock connector and the computer's USB port. Wait for iTunes to automatically start, or manually open iTunes.
- 2). Click "Start" at the bottom of the PC's screen, and select "Programs" and "iTunes" to run iTunes.
- 3). Select the "Store" button on the iTunes menu, and click "Authorize Computer." Click the blank fields, and type in the email address linked to your iTunes account and enter the password.
- 4). Click the "Authorize" button to authorize your Vista computer for the iTunes account, and click "OK" on the dialog box that notifies you of the number of authorizations left.
- 5). Click "File" on the iTunes menu, and click "Transfer Purchases from (Your name)'s iPod." The iPod will begin transferring the music and place the new music in your "Purchased" folder located in the iTunes sidebar and also in your iTunes library.
- 6). Disconnect your iPod from your PC by selecting the "Eject" button next to the iPod tab in the iTunes sidebar.
