How to Use a Laptop on a Car Converter
- 1). Remove the lighter from the lighter socket and plug the car lighter plug of the car converter into the socket. Place the base of the converter where it won't disturb the driver or the passengers. Some converters are made of one large piece that protrudes from the lighter, while others have a cord that extends to the socket.
- 2). Plug the laptop's power plug into the outlet on the car adapter, then plug the other end of the power cord into the laptop.
- 3). Press the "Power" button on the car converter, if applicable. Some car converters have a power button that can be turned on and off. This comes in handy when the car is not running since you can turn the power off instead of unplugging the car converter from the lighter socket.
