Finger scooters, small toys shaped like scooters with rolling wheels meant to be moved by your fingers, are the successors to the finger skateboards that came to popularity in the late 1990s. One of the appeals of these toys is emulating tricks that you would perform on a life-sized scooter with your fingers. - The manual, a trick done on both skateboards and scooters, is done with the rider rides the scooter on the back wheel, with the front wheel in the air. On the finger scooter, this is done with the second or third finger on the back of the toy, and the first (or first two) finger(s) on the finger scooter's cross bar.
- An ollie is performed by jumping the finger scooter off the ground while both your fingers remain on the finger scooter.
- The 180 is a trick where the finger scooter is ridden off a ramp, then flicked by the fingers in such a way that the toy turns 180 degrees in mid air (changes which direction it faces) then the fingers come back down on the scooter just before it lands in such a way that the finger scooter keeps rolling instead of falling over.
- The 360 is similar to the 180, except that instead of turning 180 degrees it turns a full 360 degrees in a circle. The rider, after launching the finger scooter from a ramp, flicks the scooter in such a way that it completes a full circle. Then, he brings his fingers back down on the scooter just before it lands so the scooter continues rolling instead of falling over.
- Both the 180 and the 360 can also be performed without a ramp, with the rider ollying his finger scooter into the air, then performing either the 180 or 360 turn, followed by a successful landing.
