Carpet Seaming Instructions
- 1). Lay the two carpet seams together. Trim the edges of each with a utility knife to ensure a tight fit.
- 2). Measure and cut a piece of carpet seaming tape the length of the seam. Place it beneath the carpet seam, one half of the tape under each side of the seam.
- 3). Plug in the seaming iron and allow it to heat up. Place the seaming iron directly on the seaming tape, just underneath the carpet seam. Move the iron along the tape, heating the glue and pressing the carpet into the heated glue.
- 4). Use a weighted carpet roller to go over the seam to ensure proper contact with the carpet and glue. Place a small heavy object on smaller seams to ensure good contact.
