How to Make Herbal Bath Salts
- 1). Choose your herbs. Chamomile and jasmine aid relaxation. Choose sage or yarrow for oily skin or parsley or borage for dry skin. Boost circulation with rosemary or make a stimulating bath salt with mint and lavender.
- 2). Pour ½ cup epsom salt into a mixing bowl. Add 2 to 3 drops of the desired fragrance to the salt and mix well.
- 3). Grind the dried herbs to a fine powder with the mortar and pestle. Use 1 tbsp. each herb. Place them in a sealed plastic bag and crush with a rolling pin if you don't have a mortar and pestle.
- 4). Mix the herbs into the salt mixture in the bowl. Scrape the bottom of the bowl with the spoon to make sure the salt is thoroughly mixed in.
- 5). Pour the salt mixture into your jar. Top off with plain epsom salt and shake well to mix. Keep the lid screwed on tightly when not using.
- 6). Add 2 heaping spoonfuls to your bath while the water is running. Allow to dissolve in the water before bathing.
