    • 1). Cut the empty soda or beer can in half, length-wise, by using your scissors. Be careful to maintain the structural integrity of each half of the can.

    • 2). Remove the insulation from the end of your coaxial cable by cutting it slightly with the scissors. This will expose the wiring underneath the insulation. You will need approximately three to four inches of exposed coaxial cabling.

    • 3). Attach each of the exposed wires -- there will be two -- to each half of the can by using strips of electrical tape.

    • 4). Attach the other end of the coaxial cable to your television's antenna input.

    • 5). Tape the halves of the can to your wall or a surface near the television, ensuring they are approximately three to five inches apart.

    • 6). Turn your television on and tune to a local broadcast station. Adjust the placement of the can halves as needed until you've got a clear reception.
