How to Use FD Lenses on a Digital Canon
- 1). Buy an FD to EOS lens adapter from a reputable camera store. There are many different kinds of adapters out there and you want to make sure you buy one that is electronically chipped for your camera. Canon made a few adapters, but they have since been discontinued.
- 2). Screw the FD-EOS adapter to your camera body. It will fit into the body the same way a lens does. Align the red dot on the adapter with the red dot on the camera body and turn it until it locks in place.
- 3). Screw in your camera lens the same way you would normally attach it to the camera body. The only difference will be the adapter is between your lens and the camera body. Some of the adapters contain optical glass that will act as a multiplier to your lens. This means the zoom will be closer than you would normally expect.
- 4). Turn your camera on and start shooting. Remember that your autofocus will not work, so you will have to focus everything manually.
