How to Hang a Deer Head on Sheetrock
- 1). Locate two side-by-side studs on the wall using a stud finder. Move the stud finder along the wall until the stud finder makes a beeping noise to indicate the studs. Mark the location of each stud with a pencil.
- 2). Place a level along the wall to determine true horizontal placement on the wall. Mark each end of the level over the studs with a pencil once the level indicates it is horizontal.
- 3). Drive one screw into each of the two studs at the spots you have marked. Allow 1/8 inch of each screws to stick out from the wall for mounting purposes.
- 4). Measure the distance between the two screws with a tape measure. This distance will determine the placement of each heavy-duty mounting bracket.
- 5). Measure and mark the distance determined in Step 4 on the back of the deer head mounting plaque. Place one heavy-duty mounting bracket on each mark, centering the bracket over the marked spot. Attach mounting brackets by hammering in mounting bracket nails.
- 6). Hang the deer head plaque on the wall by lining up the mounting brackets with the screws on the wall.
