How to Build Your Own Table Soccer Game
- 1). Draw a diagram of your game board. Make sure to calculate all measurements before you start to build. Make the sides 4-feet long by 2 1/2-feet wide, which is the standard foosball size.
- 2). Drill the eight holes on each long side for the eight rows where the rods will go. They should be 6 inches apart from the center and 3 1/8 inches from the bottom; the goalie rods should be 3 inches from the back walls. Make sure the rods fit and can turn easily before assembly.
- 3). Cut a rectangular hole in the center of each end piece to act as the goal. The hole should be about 8 inches wide. Glue or nail a small net behind the goal hole to catch the ball after a goal.
- 4). Assemble the frame by connecting the four sides.
- 5). Attach the laminate to the plywood. Bind them with nails or a powerful glue so that the surface is smooth.
- 6). Attach the frame to the laminated plywood.
- 7). Attach the players and stoppers to the rods. Set your rows up as follows: Goalkeeper, 2 Defenders, 3 Attackers (other team), 5 Midfielders, 5 Midfielders (other team), 3 Attackers, 2 Defenders (other team), Goalkeeper (other team).
- 8). Apply a rubber grip or handle to all rods so that users are comfortable when they play. This will allow for more control and overall fun.
- 9). Put the game on a solid table before starting play. Make sure your base is solid as the game can move during play.
