How to Move a Window Off-Screen Back to the Screen

29
    • 1). Locate the lost window's button on your task bar, which is typically located on the bottom of the screen but it is possible to place it on the top or sides. Make sure the lost window's button is selected; it will be highlighted in some way to indicate this.

    • 2). Right-click on the lost window's button in the task bar to bring up the system menu. Alternatively you can press the ALT and spacebar keys at the same time to bring up the system menu; this doesn't work for all programs however and you will need to use the right click in those instances. If you are using Windows 7, then you will need to hold down the SHIFT key while right-clicking to bring up the menu.

    • 3). Select the "Move" option. If this option is not selectable, then the window is stuck while maximized, select the "Restore" option to fix this. The mouse cursor should turn into a four sided arrow after clicking "Move"

    • 4). Push any of the cursor keys on your keyboard. The actual key does not matter. This will stick the window to the mouse cursor.

    • 5). Move the mouse to reposition the lost window back into view. Click the mouse to drop the window wherever you desire it.
