How to Fix a Subprocess That Exited Unexpectedly
- 1). Open the Start menu and type "services.msc" into the "Search programs and files" field. Hit "Enter." In Windows XP and earlier operating systems, type this in the "Run" tool in the Start menu instead.
- 2). Scroll through the list of the services/subprocesses until you reach the one that just closed. If necessary, alphabetize the list by clicking on the "Name" heading.
- 3). Right-click on the service/subprocess in question. Select "Properties" from the Context menu.
- 4). Click on the "Start" button in the "General" tab to restart it. You will be notified when it has successfully restarted. Click "OK" to close the Properties dialog box.
